Bisque Imports began in the trunk of D.J. Toal’s car 17 years ago. Four years later, it was located in the 80,000-square-foot former Majestic Mill on Catawba Street in Belmont. That building now is leased to the Catawba River Antique Mall, because Bisque Imports needed more space and moved to an even larger mill in 2013. D.J. and his brother Scott Toal now own four former mills in Belmont, where the entrepreneurs operate multiple businesses. Bisque Imports is located in the former Stowe Spinning Mill at 1 Belmont Avenue, which is off Woodlawn Road in North Belmont. That’s where the “Network After Work” reception will take place. Bisque Imports is one of the largest Federal Express customers in the region, shipping tens of thousands of bisque designs to pottery and craft studios all over the world. President D.J. Toal and his BI team will host Chamber members and friends for networking, refreshments and an opportunity to learn about this fascinating and highly successful local business.
