Sitting is the new Cancer. American adults spend an average of more than eight hours each day in front of screens, including televisions, computer monitors, cell phones and others. Researchers have identified sedentary behavior (time spent sitting) as a novel and potentially important risk factor for the development of chronic disease. This free 45-minute eye-opening workshop at the CaroMont Health and Fitness Center discusses the dangers of sitting, the toxic impact on the body, and the steps we can take to alleviate the devastating impact of this sedentary lifestyle.
