The growing popularity of mobile devices and e-commerce is driving up the demand for website developers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of web developers will grow 15 percent from 2016 to 2026—much faster than the average for all occupations. The Center for Workforce Excellence at Gaston College, in partnership with Tech Talent South, is offering a summer course in the fundamentals of website development. Basics in Website Development: Programming and Coding Skills will give students tech experience so they can become proficient with web development frameworks and applications, coding, design, databases, API (Application Program Interfaces) integrations, server-side languages, software, and more. Participants in the course will master essential techniques on how to be front-line developers and how to build websites.
