The National Restaurant Association (NRA) developed the ServSafe program to educate food service workers about food safety. This food and beverage safety training and certificate program is offered at Gaston College. The class is taught by an NRA-certified instructor who will cover all that is needed to obtain the sanitation certification required by most restaurants as a basic credential. The ServSafe Coursebook 7th Edition textbook (with Online Exam Voucher) is required and available for purchase in the Gaston College bookstore. Two sessions of the 16-hour ServSafe course are offered during the Gaston College Summer semester. To register, go to www.gaston.edu and click on WebAdvisor and then Continuing Education. Under the gold Registration bar, click Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes. Enter “ServSafe” for the Key Word search and click Submit. Select the session that best fits your schedule, click Submit and complete the requested information. Payment for the course is expected at time of registration.
